The 90’s were a carefree time suitable for kids and teenagers. It was the time when mobile phones and internet was still debate about something that will exist in the future. It was a colourful decade of abundance, rave parties and private television.
The teenagers
of that time were watching tv for several hours as many famous presenters such
as Helen Menegaki, Roula Koromila, Andrew Mikroutsikos, Popi Xatzidimitriou
were the protagonists-presenters of the morning entertainment zone.
Moreover, they
all watched series like:
The tree
graces, the Unacceptable, the heartbeat in Beverly Hills , Dolce Vita, the two strangers,
the penthouse
But they
also watched foreign series like:
Notably
were also the cartoons of that time. Some of them were:
Disney
Club, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Candy Candy, the Smurfs, the
Flintstones, Super Mario and Phileas Fogg
Furthermore,
teenager’s entertainment included frenetic clubbing at clubs where you should
manage to pass the so-called face
control, in order to be able to dance to the rhythm of the terrible sets of mega
clubs of the time. There were took place the well known rave parties where the
famous DJ’s played the so-called electronic music for hours and the illegal
drug trafficking was ample.
Another habit
of that time was chatrooms when the internet came up. Even if it wasn’t available
at some houses there were internet cafes where anyone could chat with
strangers.but, when they stayed at home they usually played with whatever nitendo
was reaping, especially super Mario and tetris and the first PC games:
Myst, Sim City ,
Civilization, Phantasmagoria, Ripper.
Finally, they
used to watch movies from videotapes along with their friends and organising the
famous pyjama parties.
