Social problems today

Criminality

In the TV and other media Greek sociality often listens to news about criminality and even worse some time they themselves are witnesses of such events. The problem becomes more alarming as more often than before young people are involved acting in groups (gangs). Robberies, thefts, vandalisms, murders and rape cases etc are often in the media worrying every day people for the future.
Comparing to the past not only the frequency of such events have risen but also the brutality of them. It is common belief that crime becomes more brutal, inhuman and for trivial reasons. For example the old fashion burglary has developed to armed robbery and often to torture and murder of the innocent victims. Crime also has become more organized and the word organized crime is more usual than in the past.
The main reason for such evolution in the crime is the multi aspect descent of the sociality in the last years dues to various reasons such the urbanisation, the descent of moral values and of course the economical crisis and the rise unemployment rises. Migrants also contributes to the rise of criminality. Due their low economical profile and their strength for a more prosperous life some of them have turned in to crime. As long as the unimplemented leads to more pure people becoming homeless there can be no decrease to criminality.

Unemployment

Unemployment is in its peak due to the economic crisis. More and more people mainly younger end up with no job which brings the to desperation. Hall families and up with both parents having no job being enable to pay their debt. It is a common worrying phenomenon with many side effects including the deterioration of the physical and mental health of these population.A great number of Greek population is unemployment namely the 25-28% of it when it used to be 10-12%. The situation is worse among youth where 60% of them are unemployment. . The situation would be worse if it was not for the strong Family idea in Greece. Some of them turn even homeless seeking for food in the garbage

Economical crisis

Economical crisis and unempoyment leads to poverty. People loose their property being unable to pay their debs and the quality of life descends every day. Families cannot afford to do things they used to do in the past, like properly educate their children, enjoy a better quality of life, have vocations, live in a better house or buy a newer car etc. In many cases the older usually unemployed children tent to return to their parents houses to reduce the expenses of living.

Immigrants To Greece and from Greece

During 2015, in Greece entered over 800,000 immigrants from Syria and Africa and most of them were illegal.
They live in courts and makeshift camps, in miserable conditions. Their care was left to the municipalities, charitable and non-governmental organizations which are trying to cover their basic needs without resources.
Also many young people migrate abroad to escape from the economic crisis and to live in better conditions.
They are thinking of studying abroad, or for a postgraduate. That is because in Greece will not have guaranteed professional restoration. But many are those whose degree is not enough to find a job in Greece and they move to foreign countries.

Population getting older

Birth ration has dramatically droped in Greece partially because of the economical crisis. In addition younger people leave Greece in a quest for a better life abroad. This leaves Greece with an ageing population mostly consisted of pensioners.

The problem is apparent in other EU countries.
