THE SPORTS





 Stratos Perperoglou is a Greek international basketball player, born on August 7, 1984 in Drama. His height is 2,03. with the junior national team Stratos Perperoglou won the bronze medal at EuroBasket 2002 . In the summer of 2007 he was invited by Panagiotis Giannakis in preparing and training with the National Team of Eurobasket in Spain and in Acropolis tournament. Since 2007 is a key member of the national team.






John Bourousis who is born on November 17th 1983 in Karditsa, is a Greek professional basketball player. The first Bourousis 's team was the Karditsa 's . Then he moved to AEK, where he took part in the years 2002-2006. In the end of the 2005-2006 we saw him struggling in the Spanish league with Bartselona. Bourousis was a member of the National Youth Team, which won the 2002 gold medal at EuroBasket in Russia. Also he was a member of the National Men's team which won the gold medal in Eurobasket 2005 in Serbia and the bronze medal at
EuroBasket 2009 in Poland.







Kostas Papanikolaou was born on July 31, 1990  in Trikala, Grevena,and is a greek professional basketball player. His height is 2.05 meters. As a member of the National Junior Team, Papanikolaou won the silver medal at the European Championships in 2007 and the gold medal at the European Championships in 2009 in Rhodes, where he took the title of most valuable player of the tournament. He also won the silver medal at the World Championship in 2009 with the National Youth Team.

In August 2009, he made his debut with the National team in a friendly match. In 2010 he won the silver medal at the European Championship with the National Youth. In 2011, he took place in the National team, which he participated in the Eurobasket 2011 in Lithuania, in which Greece won the 6th place.











Constantine Kaimakoglou was born on March 15, 1983 in Kaisariani. He is a Greek professional basketball player, with 2.06 height. Kaimakoglou won with the National Young Men Basketball Greece team the gold medal at the European Junior Championships in 2002. He participated in the National Youth 2005 World University Games in Turkey . As a competitor in the National team won the bronze medal in Eurobasket 2009 in Poland and he participated in the World Championship in 2010, in which Greece came 11th and also he participated in Eurompasket 2011 in Lithuania, in which Greece came sixth.





Constantine Sloukas was born on January 15, 1990 in Therme and he is a Greek professional basketball player. He has the height of 1.90. Sloukas participated in the National Youth Team, which won the silver medal at the European Championships in 2007 and the gold medal at the European Championships in 2008 in Rhodes. IHe also won the silver medal World Youth Championship in 2009 and the gold medal at the European Junior Championships in 2009. Also won the silver medal at the European Championships in 2010.





Lefteris Petrounias is born on November 30, 1990 and he is a Greek trainer of physical education,in the sport of rings. Petrounias won the gold mental at the Challenge Cup in Ostrava on 21 November 2012. Earlier, he had won first places at World Cups throughout the year. At the European Championships on May 27th he ranked fifth.








In 2014 he started with a second place in the Challenge Cup in Cottbus and a third place in the Challenge Cup of Osijek. On June 24, he won the gold medal at the Mediterranean Games. On May 25, he took fifth place at the European Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. At the World Championships in Nanigk China he ranked sixth. On April 18, 2015 in Montpellier won the gold medal at the European Gymnastics Championship. On June 20 he won the gold medal in the rings, the first European games held in Baku. On September 27, 2015 he won the gold mental in the Gran Prix of Szombathely. On October 31 he won the gold mental at the world championship in gymnastics in Glasgow.







Antonia Sakellaridou and Christina Tatsis won the bronze medal in synchronized trampoline 13-14 years,, in the world championship which it was held in Odense, Denmark.









The silver medal in the final of the women's double sculls at the world rowing championship in France won Katerina Nicolaidou and Sofia Asoumanaki in November 2015. The two Greeks were in fourth place, but in the last 500 meters they began faster and they had an excellent finish in the second place behind the New Zealand crew.







 Paraskevi Papachristou who is born in Athens, on April 17, 1989 is a Greek athlete of the triple jump. He has won two gold medals at the European Championships and she represented the Greece to Open World Championships in Athletics,which was held in Daegu, South Koreas. The Greek champion won the bronze medal at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Portland in women triplicate this year (2016). She jumped to 14.15, which gave it the third position.










 Katerina Stefanidis who is born on February 4, 1990 is an athlete of the pole vault. He took part in the Olympic Games in 2012. He has a record 4.71 meters in the open athletics and 4.80 meters indoors. He was third in the 2016 World Indoor Championships. He was also second in the European Championships in 2014 and the European Indoor Championships in 2015.





GREEK COACHES




Fotis Katsikaris who is born on May 16, 1967 in Nice Attica is a Greek former basketball player and current coach. Katsikaris started his career at Ionikos of Nice and he made his first appearance in the national A1 at the age of 15 years. He was a player of Ionic, AEK for six years and Heraklion. In total he played 197 games in A1.    Katsikaris then assumed the technical leadership of the Russian Dynamo Petersburg. With Dynamo finished 2nd in the Russian league regular season and eventually the St. Petersburg team ranked third after the playoffs this season 2005-06. In October 2006 assumed the technical leadership of the Spanish Pamesa Valencia. There he worked for two years, but, as only reached the semi-finals of the Spanish championship, he was fired in November 2008.







Dimitris Itoudis is a Greek coach of basket. He is born in Veria on September 8, 1970 and as a player struggled to Hermes Trikala Imathia and Alketa Alexandria, before deciding to travel to Zagreb, where he studied at the city's University of Physical Education with specialization in basketball. In Zagreb he did his first coaching steps on infrastructure segments Mladost and then he worked as a head coach of teenage group of Zagreb in the years 1990-1992. He worked for three years (1992-1995) at the side of Bosko Bozic on male team while he was also head coach and the university team.









George Bartzokas who is born on June 11, 1965 in Athens,is a Greek former basketball player and current coach. It is so far the first and only Greek coach who has won the trophy of the Euroleague. Bartzokas started his coaching career from the age of 22 years,and he has trained mainly groups of the northern suburbs of Athens.








Elias Zouros who is born on March 11, 1966, is a Greek basketball coach and a sport writer. On January Zouros signed a contract with Zalgiris Kaunas, a group of Lithuanian Basketball Championship, until the summer of 2011. He was the first Greek coach abroad. On February 13, 2011 he won his first title with Zalgiris, who won Lietuvos Rytas in the final of the Cup Lithuania. In the same year he also won the Lithuanian League and the Championship Baltic League.
